Guidelines & Tips

While failure to comply with the code of conduct or the statement of faith will jepordize you ability to remain in the Fellowship of Believers, the below guidelines and tips are suggested as a way to keep Faction members on the same page, but they are by no means not mandatory. Running Missions

Set Loot to random. This is the most fair way to do things, as it prevents the tankers up front from getting all the goods, leaving the healers in the back with nothing.

Ask everyone in the mission if all their critical missions for Zion are done. If not, make that player the mission leader and run all their critical missions first. Once all mission members have completed all their critical missions, you can move on to standard missions.

Do "Hard" Missions. Always start off doing missions on hard. You will be suprised how easily you can acomplish them with a well organized mission team. If you find you are all getting killed every time on hard, then drop it down to medium (and come back and re-read these tips :P).

Do "Tiny" Missions. Tiny missions mean the least amount of running around outside. This is critical because more than likly you will be running missions with a range of player levels. The less time you spend running around outside, the less times the lower level players in the mission will get taken down by an outside enemy way above their level.

Some people like to run missions and pick up everything they can find, and kill everything they come across. Others like to get in, acomplish only the specific objective, and leave as fast as they came, dodging bullets as they run. It is important that you as a mission group decide which approach you want to take before taking the missions. If you decide to take the second approach, and get in and out as fast as possible, below are a few tips.

Running Missions Fast

If possible, always have one person who fulfills each of the below roles. Make sure you decide specifically who has what role before setting off on missions:

  • Download Mission Map: Critical for getting in, finding the specific objective, and getting out fast. Make sure that when the mission leader takes a mission, the mission map download was a success (you will see green code surrounding the mission map person if successfull). This person usually is also the Hacker (below)
  • Hacker: On a large number of missions, you will need to gain access to a mainframe or computer. If you do not have a Hacker, you are forced to kill the enemies in the room to find the access codes. Having the Hacker ability stops you from having to spend time searching for the codes.
  • Pick Locks: On a large number of missions, your main objective will be on the other side of a locked door. If you do not have a Lock picker, you are forced to kill the enemies in the room to find the door key. Having the Lockpick ability stops you from having to spend time searching for the Key.
  • Team Buffer: Team buffers give members of the team a huge advantage over the enemies in levels, granting such buffs as increased healing speed and others.
  • Team Healers/Reconstructers: You usually want to have at least two people with the ability to heal players and to reconstruct RSI in the event that a player is killed.
  • Objectives completer: Pick one specific person who will actually complete all the mission objectives. This prevents the situation whereby everyone is trying to figure out who actually got the data disk. This person should have good evade combat abilities so they can avoid interlock and probably be the highest level player in the mission in case they are drawn in to interlock. If the objectives completer is drawn into interlock, they should attempt immediatly to exit it (Gunmen will deal with this enemy). Hackers and lockpickers should be consious and alert to the fact that they will need to open doors and hack mainframes for the objectives completer.
  • Gunmen: EVERYONE (including hackers, buffers, and healers) who is not the objectives completer should have the best gun they can wield on them (it doesnt matter how bad you are with a gun, still use it). Interlock is a slow process that will slow down your missions, and should be avoided at all costs. Gunmen's responsibility is to keep all enemies near the objectives completer engaged in ranged combat with themselves so that the objectives completer can get in, do his thing, and get out without being drawn into interlock. If the objectives completer is drawn in to interlock by an enemy, everyone should focus fire on that enemy so the objectives completer can resume his work asap. Keep your distance from your target to prevent interlock and also to allow you to disengage and leave the area as soon as the objective is complete.

According to the forums, Courier and Assasination missions are the two mission types with the least bugs in them, so it is suggested you pick one of those

Important: Once your "Objectives" window shows no more objectives GET OUT OF THE RED AREA IMMEDIATLY! You will not be given your next objective until EVERYONE is out of the red area.
